Fayette County Fair

This summer has been a little crazy weather wise. In June we had rain, July and August have been mostly cool temperatures as in not swimming.  I am a little bummed about the swimming but it has made every other outdoor activity wonderful. Our fair is in the middle of July, so it is always hot, no make that super hot. Well based on the weather pattern, I thought we might escape that this year-NOT. We have had one super hot week (between 90 and 100) and that was the week of our fair. However it is has become a tradition to go and I am not one to break tradition, so we headed to the fair. I lasted about 2 and a half hours  before calling it quits. It was so hot I was becoming physically sick and the kids were getting cranky. We managed to have some fun in those two hours. One the best parts of the fair is the food, but we didn't eat because it was just too hot. Anyway we survived and made another year of memories at the fair!

Madison had a flower ponytail holder that the alpacas loved.

Logan's favorite part is climbing on all the tractors

Madison's favorite part was riding the ponies.

We love the fair too -- but may miss it this year! Love those huge tractors -- wow -- very cool. Maddy always still wants to ride a pony. Lots of fun memories! Have a good weekend!

Glad you stuck with tradition, but I can tell by the pictures how blasted hot it was... I'm pretty sure I would have stayed home and tried to find some movie about animals. Ha! :)

You are a brave woman. There is no way I could have mustered the fair in that heat. You get extra brownie points for being Aunt-of-the-Year!

I agree, aunt of the year for braving the heat. Although, I'm not one to break traditions too!
