So for the past few years, it has become a tradition to go to the outdoor mall for their tree lighting. It is always the weekend before Thanksgiving so it is the unofficial kick-off to Christmas fun. The first year we went it was cold but the past two years it has been warm. This year it was frigid, as in I was still cold about 3 days later and I am not usually a cold person. We might have been okay if it hadn't been for the bitter wind. We survived and I would have been disappointed if we didn't go. It was really neat because just as they were getting ready to light the tree, it started to snow so that made it really feel like Christmas. We cut our evening short, because that snow was also making the roads really slippery, so we grabbed some food and headed home.
He looks so small in front of this giant tree
We had to chat with the reindeer
Cold but having fun
Trying to drink our hot chocolate before it got cold
Waiting for the parade to start
Santa Claus is coming to town
Beautiful-notice the snow coming down
Another fun year of this great tradition

What a fun night! We weren't able to go to a holiday art party last weekend because of the weather too. Boo hoo!
Fun, but brrrr! We've been "enjoying" the artic blast too! Not quite ready!
Brrrrrr!! Love that last picture! Glad you kept up the tradition, even though you were freezing! :)
How awesome is it that is started snowing while you all were there!! We usually go to the lighting of the square here--it is that same weekend--and we skipped it because it was FREEZING and the wind was horrible, too. Ohhh, and both kids had nasty coughs. I hated to miss it, though.
I am with you--I love snow days. I am a homebody so we hang out, have fun, and watch movies. (:
So much fun! That tree is beautiful! I am jealous of your snow! Hoping for some snow days in mississippi this winter!!!
It's cold as hockey sticks here too! And I live in California! Love the pics though~
