This Pretty Much Sums Up Winter

Oh winter, I will be so happy to say good-bye. You have stuck around too long and you can't seem to leave soon enough. This weekend we got a break from the winter blues and it was wonderful, but of course another storm is just days away. I really needed these few days of sunshine and warmer temps. My students finally got outside for the first time since November, they really didn't know what to do. I know one thing, we will appreciate every ounce of sunshine and spring temps.

As much as I have loved the snow days, I am ready to get back into a normal routine. Plus I would like a few days off this spring. I have a super busy week ahead with some big tests for my students. The first one will be given tomorrow, fabulous after this time change! I also have my final evaluation for the school year and two meetings this week. I have tried to spend the weekend getting everything in order so the week will run smoothly. However it seems like no matter how prepared I am, something always goes crazy.

So the pictures below were taken by my parents earlier this winter when the kids were sled riding at their house. Sadly I didn't get in all the winter play time because I was always stuck at home in the snow storm. These pictures pretty much describe the extent of our fun this winter. The sleds and snow shovels have definitely gotten a major workout this winter. I am praying that soon we can trade them in for pool toys and sand buckets!

BTW- This was a pretty deep snow but it had a layer of ice on top so the kids didn't really sink down in it.
