I have not disappeared off the face of the earth, I am just super busy. The end of the year madness has set in. I am working hard to make these last few days the best for my students. On top of that, this was graduation weekend, so I have been making the rounds to graduation parties. Yesterday I attended the graduation ceremony of my first class, they were just first graders when we started out. It is amazing to see how much they have grown over the years but I still see those little first grade faces. I have three days with students and a work day for me this week. I can honestly say that I am going to miss this class so much, do I really have to send them home for the summer. I am teaching summer reading camp later this summer so I will get to see many of them then.
Over a month ago, I threw a baby shower at school for one of my best friends. She was divorced with no kids and spent many years looking for Mr. Right. We spent many nights getting over Mr. Wrong and then Joey came along. It was her 15 year class reunion and her mother(who was a former teacher) told her some people to look up and see how they were doing. Joey was one of those guys. They started talking that night and as they say the rest is history. They are both in their mid-forties so time for a baby was not on their side. They saw one doctor who pretty much told them no way, no how and they later found out that same day she was pregnant. We all spent so much time praying over this pregancy and she had a perfect one. I wanted to throw a shower for the whole school 2 celebrate this little guy. We held it at the middle of April and just 2 weeks later, he decided to make an early arrival. He arrived perfectly and he is such a happy little guy.
I chose the little red wagon theme and it turned out adorable.

Enjoy wrapping up your school year and getting ready for your summer reading program obligations. Can you believe it's almost done? It was the longest winter on record, but I'm still amazed the school year is almost over. Hugs!
