How Can It Be?

How can it be August already? I really keep thinking in my mind that it should just be turning July. The reality is sinking in that in 22 days I will be back to work and in 24 days I will be meeting my students. I have mixed feelings about this. First their is the excitment of a new school year. I love the fresh start, and thanks to Pinterest, I have tons of great ideas! However I am sad that my laid back schedule and extra time with the little ones is coming to an end. We still have lots of fun things planned, but I hate knowing that is coming to an end.  I am headed to my classroom to start working today. I like to do it early that way I can squeeze in a few last minute fun things before school starts.

Back to July- After the 4th of July fireworks, Logan came home with me for a sleepover. He was more than ready for bed after the fireworks and woke up refreshed the next morning, ready for a new adventure. We had decided to go to the pool, but since they didn't open until noon, we had some time to full in the morning. I decided we will make tortilla pizzas for lunch. Of course Logan was all about helping in the kitchen and this was something he could do on his own. We enjoyed out pizzas and then headed to the pool. It was so much fun to watch him play there this year. We have been going to this pool for three years now and it is funny to think about how much he has changed. He is now able to go in the big pool but of course still enjoys playing in the little pool too. It was a great way to cool off (or get sun burned, that would be me).  Of course this also make for great naps for the both of us!

I'm definitely not ready for it to be August either. We are squeezing in one last vacation next week. I'm not ready to think about homework, school lunches or Josie starting Kindergarten. Eek!

Enjoy the last few weeks!

You are the best aunt!

I went to write a check today and looked at the date and said, "Whaaaat??? It is already August!!!!" Where does the time go? Our schools are starting the 15th! They didn't get out until the 2nd week of June either! Short summer.

We love those pizzas too.
