All Aboard

I found a fantastic coupon deal for a local train museum and I knew it would be a perfect day out for Logan and me. I have to say, this summer I have become more comfortable driving in large cities, with the help of my trusty GPS.  So the two us set off on an adventure.  The plan was to leave early, so I could get back early and go work in my classroom. Well the plan didn't work out as expected, but it worked out perfect. We arrived at the museum and I saw lots of people outside and getting in their cars. I couldn't imagine why because they had just opened about an hour before. So we unload, get the camera ready and head inside. We walk in and are greeted by a nice man, who informs us that the electric is out and they don't expect it to come on for another 2-3 hours. So here we are an hour from home, coupons in hand and only a few free summer days left. So I moved on to plan B, which was to find something local to do, to kill two hours and then come back. I needed a trip to the teachers store so that was our first stop. Logan had fun in there, because they have toys and train sets to play with. In fact he kept asking me if that was the train mueseum! We then headed to a few other stores and finished off with lunch and playtime at Chick fil A. By that time it was time to head back to the museum and pray that the electric was back on. Thank goodness it was!  We spent three hours playing and enjoying the museum before heading home. Sure I didn't get to work at school that day but I got to spend extra time with Logan which was totally worth it.

They had a cute motorized train you could ride.

Logan loved the hand pedal trains
