Bubble Day

The day after Memorial Day, I had to go back to school for my last week. We always try to plan fun events for those days and it has become a tradition the last few years that we do bubble day. We plan all kinds of stations and the kids rotate through classrooms doing activities that relate to bubbles, bubble gum and songs about bubbles. It is a fun day for the kids and the activities are educational. For the past few years, Logan has come up in the afternoon to participate in bubble blowing fun in the afternoon. We all go outside and each kid has their own bottle of bubbles and the air is filled with bubbles. This year when I asked the principal if it would be okay if he came in the afternoon for bubble day, she suggested he might like to spend the day. When I mentioned this idea to Logan he was so excited. He could not wait to do the activities, eat lunch and spend the whole day being a second grader.

It was hard getting him to bed the night before because he was so excited. When I woke him up the next morning, he jumped right out of bed! We grabbed breakfast at McDonald's and then headed to school.  He was so excited to spend the day with the kids and greeted them at the door.  He thought it as really cool to go into the cafeteria and pick up his lunch like the big kids. It was a great introduction to what kindergarten is going to be like this year. I figured he would crash on the way home but he could not stop talking about the day.

I am limited on some of the pictures I can share from the day due to the privacy of my students but I tried to get a few of him by himself.

Taking down the students chairs

Waiting for the students to arrive

He got some computer time just like the big kids

We make bubble cookies aka sugar cookies, icing and marshmallows

From the look on his face I think he enjoyed it.
