I'm Back

I'm back to a somewhat normal routine. I went back to school, which was easier than I thought, but I was so busy I didn't have time to think. It has been a rough few days with the funeral. I am so glad my family did it all in one day. It was easier on everyone and I know that is what my grandpa would have wanted. It was so wonderful to see so many friends and family come out to pay their respects. It made me realize just how many lives he touched. Our family has had so much amazing support. I am so grateful for all of my online friends. I will be back to blogging in a few days, I have lots to catch up on.

Prayer Request

Please keep my family in your prayers. I lost a very special man today, my grandpa.  I am really missing him tonight and I am stuck at home by myself because of a huge snow storm.  He was a great man and he will be missed. I am worried about Logan because he was Pap's buddy and he is too young to understand. So if you don't see me around for a while, that is where I am.

We love and miss you Pap

Happy Birthday To Me

I had a wonderful birthday! Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes. We kept things pretty simple this year, but I did end up with 2 parties. My family had one for me on the evening of my birthday. I got lots of great gifts and enjoyed red velvet cake. One of the best gifts was that Madison let me hold her and put her to sleep, this is something that never happens!

When I went to school on Monday, my friend Linda surprised me with a birthday cake and gift at lunch. It was fun celebrating with my co-workers (whom I adore) and the principals even crashed the party. At that party, my friend Linda made a yummy strawberry filled cake. Let's just say it makes no sense to make a New Years resolution when your birthday is 2 days after New Years!

So far, 30 hasn't felt much different than 29. Enjoy all the pictures.

Goodbye 20's, Hello 30's

Well as I was laying in bed stressing about turning 30, I thought about what happened in my 20's. So I thought I would share(or put you to sleep) with some of the things that happened in my 20's.
-I was in college(wow that seems like ages ago)!
-I was assistant director of a day and taught preschool part time
-I student taught in kindergarten (loved it then, can't imagine doing it now)
-Graduated from Wilmington College
-Spent a summer interviewing and stressing about getting a job(finally got on in August, 2 weeks before school started)
-Spent many hours in my first classroom getting everything perfect
-In my first five years of teaching, I moved classroom and grade levels five times(I can pack a classroom like no ones business)
-Moved into my own apartment, which was a wonderful decision. I think this is something every young women should experience. You learn a lot about yourself and how much you can really do.
-Had sinus surgery, which was my first surgery ever and something that I have never regretted.
-Became an aunt twice

So that somes up the major points of my 20's. After thinking about all that, I decided that I am ready for my thirties and to see what God has in store for me.

And of course I couldn't post without a picture...

I will be drawing a winner for my drawing tonight. If you haven't entered go here.
