A Whole Handful

How is it that my sweet nephew Logan is already 5! Five is such a fun age, but it does make me sad that he is growing up too fast. We had a family party for him on the evening of his birthday. We went to a local restaurant and had appetizers and cupcakes. The also treated the birthday boy to an ice cream sundae. He was so excited with each of his gifts!

I am so excited that it is finally Friday. The first week back after a break is the longest. I hope the next three weeks go faster.

All Aboard, Noah's Ark

Well I survived the Thanksgiving weekend. I must say that 5 days off was just what I needed, now the countdown to Christmas break is on. I am  a little sad that we have to go back to school on Cyb*r Mo*day. I do not do the Bl*ck Fr*day thing but I have spend time this weekend shopping online. Sitting at home in my pj's and a package arriving on my doorstep is my idea of shopping, sorry all you BF shoppers, I enjoy listening to your stories!!

The week before Thanksgiving, Logan had his preschool program. This year the theme was Noah's ark. The kids dressed up in animal costumes, which was perfect for our little tiger from Halloween. It was so cute to see all the kids up there in their costumes, they were quite the crew.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is a day that we pause to give thanks for all we have. So many times I think, I wish I had this or if only I had more... but in the past few days I have realized that I have more than most people. We had a great sermon at church on Sunday that made me stop and think how blessed I am. Sure I have my share of problems and the last few weeks have been trying but I still have been blessed with so many things.

I will be spending today with lots of family, including my favorite niece and nephew. The grape salad is made and I'm sure we will eat way to much. I hope you are spending the day with those you love. If you are going black Friday shopping, best wishes, that is just not my thing. I will be at home shopping from my computer!

Logan's Last Soccer Games

Logan played soccer for the first time this year. He had his last two games at the end of October. It has been so fun to see how much he has improved since his first game. Time will tell whether or not he will play next year.  I made it two the last two games, one was a night game and one was a Saturday morning game, both were very COLD! Logan was so excited to getting a trophy. I really think he thought that was going to be gettting one that was as big as him, but was happy with his star trophy!!!

Fall Hayride

Every year our church has a fall party and hayride. We were so thankful that this year we were not blown away by the crazy wind that we had last year. It was cold, but I think that is part of the fun! The kids had fun playing outside, roasting hot dogs and of course going on the hayride. We were riding back through the farm fields and were slightly startled by the men standing up in the tree stands looking for deer. I hate to tell that the deer were long gone once they heard our noisy group coming! We arrived back just before dark and we enjoyed ending the evening by making smores.

BTW- I am itching to put my Christmas stuff out but I am holding out until Tuesday night when I get out of school. So the question is when do you put your Christmas stuff out? My co-workers like to give me a hard time because they think I rush the Christmas stuff, but I love everything about the season and want to enjoy it as much as possible.

Logan was in heaven when the hostess brought out her boys old toys for him to play with!

Don't they look thrilled

We took two hay wagons.

5 Years- Happy Birthday Logan!

How did I blink and miss the last 5 years?? I honestly can't believe that today we are celebrating 5 years! I can honestly go back in time in remember holding that little guy in my arms, now he a bundle of energy. Next year he will be starting kindergarten and I know that before I blink again, he will be turning 10.

Logan holds a special place in my heart because he made me an aunt! I love every minute of being an aunt. I get to have all the fun, without the responsibility.

Logan is a smart little guy, who knows all the correct names of tractors and large machinery ( I know this because he is often correcting me). He loves to sing and is starting to "read" familiar books. He loves outdoors and all things that involve dirt!  He always reminds me that he will still want to come over to my house for sleepovers, even when he is a teenager-I hope so!

Happy Birthday to my favorite nephew!

Apple Orchard

At the end of September, we made a trip to the apple orchard. I had forgotten how much better the stuff is when it comes straight from the orchard. I miss that all the orchards that were around when I was little have since closed. We enjoyed a beautiful drive and lots of fun at the orchard. The apple cider was so sweet and the apples were just as yummy! This was Logan's first experiece at the orchard, but I am sure we will be going again next year.

Logan had so much fun running on top of the bales of straw

and jumping in it!

I finally managed to get him to pose with a pumpkin

Girl's Day Out

My aunt wasn't able to attend Madison's birthday party, so we decided to meet a few weeks later for a girl's day out at Young's Dairy. Young's has become one of my favorite places to visit, and we lucked out because it was their pumpkin festival and Madison had a coupon for a free meal for her birthday. We arrived at the perfect time and we were able to do most of the stuff before the crowds came. We had fun taking 2 rides around the farm, one with a tractor and one horse drawn. We also played games, played in the play area and had a yummy lunch! It was a beautiful day and I was so glad we were able to take advantage of such wonderful fall weather.
