Living Pizza

One of the ladies I work with invited Logan out to their farm to participate in the Living Pizza. This is the first year they are doing it and they wanted some volunteers to try out the concept. Her husband manages Donatos and they have a farm produce stand as well. He wanted to create the Living Pizza to educate children about where their food comes from. He spent lots of time plowing the field into a circle and plotting it out so it looks like a Donatos pizza. When we got there,  he showed Logan how to plant a tomato plant. The idea is the kids will plant all the ingredients for their pizza and then watch it grow.

Logan was good for about 5 minutes then he was ready to move on to more exciting things such as playing with the dog and collecting rocks. Overall it was a beautiful night, spent with wonderful friends and Logan got to get all dirty. Life is good!

Happy 8 Month Birthday Madison!

I am not sure where this past month went, it seems like I was just writing her 7 month post.  Madison is sitting up on her own and is able to move from laying to sitting and sitting to laying. She is also after brothers toys. Logan is learning that is not so fun getting your toys taken away (like he has been doing to her).  She is becoming more animated and continues to exercise her voice box. She is such a sleep fighter. Last night I watched her for a while and she screamed for what seem liked forever. She would lay her head down but just when I would think she had calmed down, she would pop back up.

Madison will be attending her first surprise party today. My grandma's sister is hosting a surprise party for my grandma. So far everyone has been able to keep the secret, of course we did not tell Logan. I hope everyone enjoys the weekend. I have 4 more days left with students!!!

Black and White Wednesday

It is time for black and white Wednesday over at The Long Road to China. I love going over there and checking out everyones black and white photos.

I took this photo of Logan a few weeks ago and decided to try it in black and white. We were just hanging out at my grandma's farm and he decided he wanted to climb the gate. I thought may he would go up a few levels, he made it to the top and after I took this pictures, he went over the top to the other side. I tell you the boy has no fear! He loves all things farm, so I am sure there is much more fence climbing in his future. I wish he had a better smile on his face but this is what I have been getting lately.  Happy Wednesday, I love that my work week is almost over!

Great news to share- Logan has started potty training. I got a call Monday night telling me that he had went to the potty and that Court needed to go buy him some Thomas underwear.  I told him if he started going to the bathroom I would buy him some Thomas underwear, this kid does not forget a thing. I guess I will be making a trip to Walmart for Thomas underwear!  Also Logan has decided he is moving into my house for the summer. I waiting to open my door any day and see him standing on my patio with his bags packed (he is going through the terrible two's)!

Garden Tour

Does anyone else ever feel like they need a weekend to recover from the weekend? That is how I am feeling right not. Luckily I have just 3 more Mondays, now that is just plain exciting!   Last week I spent a few days planting my flowers. I only have a few pots but I do enjoy planting them and then spending time enjoying them all summer.  Enjoy the view of my garden/patio area. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and Happy Mother's Day to all my blog friends.

Lordy, Lordy Someone Turned 40

...and it wasn't me! Last week my best friend and co-worker Linda turned the BIG 4-0, so being the good friend that I am, I planned a celebration. If only we could have this much fun everyday of the week. I wanted to keep it classy with a few touches of humor. A trip to Target, served as my inspiration. I found some great black and white polka dot napkins and decided to plan the day around that. Another co-worker made the cake, which was delicious and turned out just how I wanted! Linda kept telling me all day that she was having a great birthday and that made me so happy. I think 40 looks great on her.

I couldn't find a polka dot birthday banner, so I made this one, it looks better in person.
