The Beginning of Fall Fun

I can't believe October is almost over and  we have just finished our last weekend of fall fun. It is time to rest up( ha,ha) and get ready for the busy Christmas season. We began October with a visit to the local fall harvest place. They have tons of things for kids to do. I was a little bummed that it was still pretty warm the day we went. It just isn't fun to go to the pumpkin patch when you are sweating. Logan had fun checking out the animals in the petting zoo, riding the barrel train, going in the corn maze and sliding down the corn slide.  We picked out some pumpkins on our way out to help with fall decorating. We love spending time at this fun place.

I am also celebrating the act that I survived the first nine weeks of school. It has been a tough nine weeks with all the continuing changes in education. Now I just need to finish grading end of the nine weeks tests and entering grades-UGH!

Madison's Birthday Party

Wow, it is already Monday, even the long weeks go fast. I had Friday off from school, but ended up spending the day on the couch resting my back that I had pulled a few days earlier. I had powered through 2 days but decided a day of rest was what I needed. Hopefully I am putting that behind me.  So needless to say, I was sad that a beautiful fall day was wasted, but we made up for it yesterday with some fall fun. .

So as I was getting ready this morning, I realized it has been a month since Madison's birthday. I really didn't think it had been that long, time just keeps speeding by.

We had her family birthday with our family at a restaurant.  We went during 1/2 price appetizers and ordered a bunch for dinner. After dinner, the restaurant comes to sing to the child and they bring them ice cream. Madison made out in the gift department with some new clothes and I got her a play stove.

We ended the evening with cupcakes. My mom ordered the cupcakes and I whipped up some cupcake toppers.

I just can't believe she is already 4, I still see her as a baby.

Madison Starts Preschool

Well apparently the weekend took its toll on me because my Monday started by me oversleeping an hour. I still made it to school in plenty of time but I love to have a slow start to my morning and that  didn't happen. It is amazing how something so small can set off your whole day. Today I was up in time and doing my normal morning routine.  I am excited that this week is a 4 day week but I have another busy weekend ahead.

Madison started preschool at the beginning of September. She seems to like it but she doesn't really like to talk about it much. I think she likes the fact that she is a big girl going to school now.

Barnyard Fun

Two posts in one week, amazing!!!! Logan and I usually go out to eat with my grandma on Sunday's after church. On this particular Sunday, I gave Logan the choice of where we could eat, and he chose The Barnyard Café. We had a yummy lunch and they headed out to the barn to see the animals. A friendly little rooster joined us on our tour to the barn. Now if you know me, you know I am not a fan of birds and chickens are high on that list. So at the end our barn tour, I told Logan to stand there and I would take his picture with the rooster. Well apparently the rooster did not like that idea and started chasing us. Logan got a large peck mark on the back of his leg! So that pretty much ended our trip to the barn and Logan still tells the story of that rooster that chased us!

I have a busy weekend ahead, hopefully everyone gets a chance to enjoy it, they always go way to fast.

September Fair Fun

Yes, I have been MIA for a few weeks. Actually, I didn't realize I had been gone that long until I looked at my last post. I will admit, this school year has been kicking my bootie! We are all going through this new evaluation system, analyzing data, and getting through our first round of parent teacher conferences. All that on top of the beginning of the year junk and that makes for some very stressed out teachers. I may or may not have had my fair share of ugly cries along the way. I am still trying along with others to find my stride but I am not there yet. Just know if you don't see me around, I am probably deep in a pile of data trying to get a game plan together.


Now onto some fun stuff. It has been a tradition for Logan and I to go spend an evening at the Highland Co. Fair. We went up on Sunday evening. I am beginning to think that we are not supposed to go to a fair unless it is scorching hot. It was a hot evening but we survived. We walked through the buildings, ate some fair food, rode the rides, climbed on the farm equipment, and Logan' favorite, watched the truck pulls. We spend probably 2 hours watching the pulls and we would have spent 2 if I would have let him but it was getting close to bedtime. We always have a fun time and it is fun for me to walk down memory lane, as I was very involved with the fair when I was younger.
