Pumpkin Patch

Sometimes it is the simple things in life that bring you joy and it isn't till those are taken away that you realize how much you miss them. I have always wanted to create memories with Logan and Madison, so that one day they will say "remember when Aunt Court did this with us." So since Logan's first visit to the pumpkin patch, we have been going to the same one. It wasn't anything grand, but on of my co-workers families runs it and it was a nice small place with lots to do. This year they were not able to do it due to family issues, so we were left without a pumpkin patch. I am not going to lie, I almost cried when I found out the news because this was going to be Madison's first visit. So I started searching and found that the pumpkin patch that I had taken my first graders to on a field trip had moved, and it was closer to us!

My brother and I loaded up the kids in their pumpkin shirts that I made and headed to the farm. We had perfect fall weather, sunny and high 60's. Logan had a blast, Madison just took it all in.  I am sure next year she will be chasing her brother to do all the activties too. So Plan B worked and hopefully we have found a new option when it comes to pumpkin farms.

Fall Fun

Even with my busy schedule at school, I have been trying to take time to enjoy my favorite season-fall. We have had crazy fall weather this year. We have had 90 degrees down to 30 degrees. Yesterday we had some crazy weather in the area with confirmed tornados. Lets just say spending an hour in the hallway with 400 second and third graders was not the way I wanted to spend the afternoon. Everyone is safe but we have tons of damage where I live.

I have taken a lot of random pictures of Logan and Madison this fall, so I thought I would share those first. Coming soon will be pumpkin patch pictures and a fall hayride. I hope everyone is enjoying fall where you live.

Church Picnic

 

The last Sunday in September, we had our church picnic. We went from sweating to cold within a week so everyone was taking a spot close to the fire. Logan was busy as usual, which kept me on my feet since there was a pond nearby. Sometimes he forgets that he is only 2 and wants to keep up with the big kids. I am pretty sure that his stomach was a bottomless pit that day because he finished off to chicken legs, half of a large chicken breast and a large assortment of veggies! He looked so cute walking around chewing on this large chicken breast. We had a great day of food and fellowship.

Build-A-Dog

A few weeks ago Logan came to spend the night with Aunt Court. We had so much fun. We started out with a trip to the fall festival (no pictures-it was impromptu) and the next day we went to the city to get crafting supplies to finish Madison's scrapbook. While we were there, we decided to take a trip to Build-A-Bear. We hit Michaels, then had lunch at Red Robin. I have decided if you want great service, Logan is the guy to take along. No matter what restaurant we are at, we end up with 10 waitresses attending to his every need. This time it was umbrellas in his lemonade, extra fries, and his pick of any balloon even if they weren't blown up.  While we were waiting he had fun watching the Ohio State game on the screen and chanting Go Bucks (we have raised him right)!

After lunch, we headed to the mall to find the Build-A Bear store. We were so lucky to be the only ones in there, just before a large birthday party full of 4 year old little girls! Logan chose a dog, hence the name of the title. All day he would correct me when I would say Build A Bear. His dog is so adorable. He had so much fun stuffing it and giving it a bath. We of course had to accessorize with overalls (or bibs as we call them here in Ohio), a flannel shirt and work boots. The final step was coming up with a name. I decided I would go along with any name as long as it wasn't too out there. He came up with Sid, which I could live with.

My brother asked me why I didn't have as many pictures, as in 50 instead of 100. Well chasing a two year and taking pictures does not always mesh! So enjoy the ones I got.

I really want to dress Logan up in his bibs and get some farmer pictures with him and Sid.

Madison's 1st Birthday

I hope things start to slow down soon, as I am not sure I can keep up much longer. I have been super busy the last few weeks and right now all I want to do is sleep but I must keep going. I had a fun weekend. Sunday I hosted a Thirty-One gift party and it was so much fun. However this meant Saturday, I was busy cleaning and cooking.  This week looks a little slower, so hopefully I can rest up a bit (especially since I now have a spotless house)!!

Last weekend we celebrated Madison's birthday with pink and brown polka dot party.  The party was in the school cafeteria, which meant there was lots of room for everyone to spread out and the kids could run without hurting anything.  They had BBQ pork, popcorn chicken, veggie tray, grape salad, and chips. Madison was blessed with many wonderful presents. Then it was time for the cake. You will be able to tell from the pictures that she was all about the cake. When I was cleaning her up after the party, I found icing in her cake. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking. Have a great week!
