Easter

Well it is over a month later and I am finally finshing my Easter post. Better late than never, right? It has been a super busy spring. I am now in the home stretch of school with only 12 days left. WOO HOO! There are some changes taking place which I am excited about. My teaching title is changing to second grade intervention room. I will be team teaching with our special education teacher next year. It was a position I chose to take and I am excited about the new challenge. With this new job comes a change to a new room, which means I am knee deep in boxes everyday while still teaching my second graders. Not an easy task, but I am managing.

Okay so back to Easter. We  went to church that morning and then back to my grandmas for pictures. It was super windy that day which is why we have hair blowing in all different directions. The kids semi-cooperated for pictures this year, maybe there is hope for them yet!

He insisted on having his picture with the cows in the background. The cows were actually in trouble because they were out of their pasture that morning!

The Performance

About 4 weeks before Easter some of the ladies at our church organized an Easter program for the kids. That day at lunch Logan started telling us what his part was that he had to say in the program. The ladies were amazed because within 5 minutes he had his part memorized. By the next Sunday, he had the song down. We talked about how we were so proud of him and couldn't wait to see him perform. So Easter morning comes and arrives at church and announces he doesn't want to do the program. I was disappointed but decided oh well and put the camera away. All the kids march up to the stage and Logan jumps up and decides yes he does want to do. So I scrambled to get the camera back out and on and ran to the back of the church to tape. So please excuse the shaky video, I was a little out of sorts! He did a great job and we were all so proud of him.

Church Egg Hunt

One of my favorite things about spring is the Easter Egg Hunt. Every year our church hosts an Easter Egg hunt. Last year it was cancelled due to rain, this year the weather was PERFECT. Everyone enjoys lunch and games before the hunt. This year it was pizza and lots of goodies. I made some basket cupcakes that I found on Pinterest. Madison cracked me up because the girl has such a sweet tooth. She figured out there was candy in some of the eggs, so she would crack them open shove the candy in mouth and move on. She did this until her mouth was stuffed full of candy. Logan on the other hand was interested in the whistle, so we always knew where he was.

Bunny Lunch

It has been a tradition the past few years to attend the Lunch with the Easter Bunny. The kids enjoy crafts, face painting and an Easter egg hunt along with lunch. At least this year it wasn't raining, even if it was a tad bit cold.

Egg Coloring Take Two

Of course Logan would not be left out of the egg dying, so the following weekend, I did it with him. He was so funny because he kept saying that he didn't remember how to do it. Well it must be like riding a bike because he caught on quickly! We had a busy day, filled with the Bunny lunch, seeing the movie The Lorax, and dying eggs.

Also I would like for everyone to keep Logan in your prayers. He had another seizure a few weeks ago. They think they have discovered the problem and are now treating it. He has some follow up appointments in a few weeks to see if everything is working properly. We are relieved to have a diagnosis but the future is still unclear.

Egg-citing News- We Have A Winner

Sorry this is a little late, but I was so busy spring cleaning yesterday, that I was ready to drop when it was bedtime. Thank you for entering my 300th post giveaway, I wish I could give all of you a gift card, but my teacher budget doesn't really allow for that. So, the winner is comment #4 Sara! I am so happy for Sara,as she has had a rough Easter weekend with two sick little ones. Maybe this will bring a little sunshine your way. Sara, I will get in touch with you so I can send your gift card to you.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend, I have enjoyed reading a lot of the holiday posts. Our weekend was busy but good, I will slowly be recapping it. I wanted to start the Easter posts with Madison dying Easter eggs. We did this a few weeks before Easter and Madison had so much fun. This was her first year to do eggs and she did so well. Thanks to Pinterest for the wonderful idea of using the wire wish to dip the eggs in.
