First Spring Soccer Game

I would be lying if I said I wasn't happy that we are in the home stretch of the school year. I have really enjoyed my class this year and my job position. However there is something about summer being just around the corner that makes my heart skip a beat. I am sure May is going to fly by. Since we didn't go over our snow day allowance this year, we have 3 Fridays off in May. Plus the calendar is full of lots of fun activities, so I have a feeling it will be June before I turn around.

Logan started spring soccer at the beginning of April. We do games on Sunday afternoons. It is funny to watch instructional soccer, and lots of time is spent picking the pretty yellow dandelions in the field. As the season has went on, we have seen Logan make some improvements. Sadly today's game was cancelled due to rain :(

Easter

Thank you so much for all the kind comments and get well wishes on my last post.  Sadly that was not the end and round two started last Thursday. I don't think I have been that sick in years. I am happy to report (fingers crossed) that it has been behind me for three days and my appetite is coming back! I went back to school yesterday after only working 1 day last week.

Now onto something fun, Easter. We had a fun Easter this year.  The kids were in the program at church, although you won't see Madison in any of the pictures since they placed her behind the bigger kids, but she was there. After church my grandma hosted everyone for a yummy lunch of ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans, rolls, and salads. The kids enjoyed looking at their baskets. We had a nice Easter nap and then some more playtime. Sadly it was cool and rainy outside so we had to spend the day inside.

We were able to snag a few outside pictures before church

Palm Sunday

I have been attempting to write this post for two days but thanks to a stomach bug it just wasn't happening. I woke up sick Monday morning and it is now Wednesday and I am slowly feeling better. I have been home from school the past two days and I am going to attempt going back today. I really thought I had avoided the bug this year since it has been around my class multiple times.

On Palm Sunday, our church always does a little kids program complete with palm branches. Logan and Madison enjoyed participating in the program this year. Another child was sick, so Logan fell into the role of the donkey, he really enjoyed this role!

Ready, Set, Hunt Eggs

My spring break is over and it is back to work tomorrow. I have to say that I crammed a lot into three days but I still have so much I want to get done. I am working on redoing my bedroom so I spent some time shopping for new things on Thursday ( I will post pictures when I have everything in there. I spent Friday deep cleaning my bedroom. Saturday I spent time making cupcakes and getting everything ready for Easter. Sunday we spent the day at my grandma's. Today I spent the day tackling laundry and the never ending everyday cleaning tasks.

The weekend before Easter we went to a community Easter egg hunt. My ideal Easter egg hunt is beautiful blue skies and warm weather. Well this was exactly the opposite, gray skies and cold temps. The kids had fun doing the activity stations they had set up and then hunting for eggs. To end the day, Logan participated in his first kiddie tractor pull. I think it was a lot harder than he expected but we were proud of him for giving it a try.

They had a petting zoo set up for the kids. This pony was a hit with these two.

Madison was sure she had found the Easter bunny.

They got to decorate their pots and then plant some green beans.

They had an obstacle course set up for the kids.

Breakfast With The Easter Bunny

A few weekends ago we had breakfast with a guy that is very popular this time of year...the Easter Bunny. The senior center in my hometown, have started hosting kids activities to help raise money for the center. It is a great fund raiser for them and you can tell the members really enjoy the kids. They offered an all you can eat pancake breakfast and then they had activities for the kids. We started the morning by visiting with the EB and then headed to fill up on some pancakes. They offered many flavors of pancakes as well as sausage and eggs. After some yummy pancakes, the kids went off to do egg coloring, picture coloring and dancing with the EB and his friend Mr. Duck.  The final activity was an Easter egg hunt.  We love doing things like this and can't wait till next year to do it again.

I am officially on spring break. WOO HOO! We are off until Tuesday and I plan on enjoying some time off to catch up on things before the final end of the year push. It is hard to believe we are now in the final nine weeks and my end of the year calendar is already filling up. Of course I am counting down the days till summer break and lots of fun adventures with my two favorite little people.
