I am seriously not sure how we made it to 5 already. I am pretty sure it was just yesterday that I was slipping the little band over her head in the hospital. Now she is a spunky and sassy little girl who is attending preschool 4 days a week. Wow time sure does fly by.
*She loves all things pink and purple.
*Chicken fingers are her favorite food followed by pizza.
*She has a sweet tooth.
*Baby dolls are on the top of her list of things to play with.
*Surprise, surprise her favorite movie is Frozen.
*She can write her name and she is working really hard on coloring inside the lines.
*She can laugh and have fun or throw the world's largest temper tantrum all within a matter of minutes.
Happy, Happy Birthday Princess Madison! I hope 5 is as exciting year for you.

A Day of Entertrainment
The day of my accident, I was headed to get Logan to take him to Entertrainment Junction. Thomas had a new train friend coming out named Logan and they were having a celebration to introduce the new train. I had planned this special day and it was supposed to be our last big outing of the summer. I just remember standing on the street looking at my car thinking I am not going anywhere today and was so disappointed. Logan was okay with it. He told my dad he was having a bad day because he couldn't go but Aunt Court was having a really bad day. I promised to make it up to him as soon as I got everything settled with my car. So it was a little late but we were able to make a trip down there before school started. We were able to play all day and they had a Thomas scavenger hunt so we enjoyed finding them throughout the train displays.
We completed another week of school. It was only 4 days with kids since we had a safety training on Monday. I think as a class we starting to find our groove. As a teacher I am still working about 14 hour days and living off of caffeine but I know I will get in a routine there soon.

Update
I'm still alive. I always forget how crazy busy the first part of the school year is. I am EXHAUSTED! I went a full week last week but only 3 of those days had kids. The first week is brutal and I don't think you can truly appreciate it until you have experienced it. We have practiced the drills, went over the rules and read lots of fun back to school books. Today we had an all day training on school safety and tomorrow we start into the real routine. I come home and collapse, my body needs time to adjust. I know it will come but the adjustment time is insane.
We rounded out July with some pool time. I really wish we had gotten more pool time this summer but the weather just didn't cooperate. Logan and I headed to the local pool one day. It was overcast and not very hot but he loved it. I have to give him so much credit that day. On the way there we saw one of my students outside playing this has been a little guy I was worried about all summer. I asked Logan if we could stop and check in on him and he said that was fine. He had fun playing with the kids while I caught up. I was so impressed that he was willing to give up some pool time to help me check in on these kids. We still had plenty of fun and closed down the pool!

Summer Is Coming To An End
I am ready to start back to school. So many people ask the question how was your summer. My response is it was different. I am grateful for every second that I have gotten to spend with my niece and nephew, for the time I have spent laughing with friends and for the quiet moments at home. However this summer has also had it's fair share of drama. I spent 3 weeks battling vertigo ( kinda puts a damper on summer fun), I spent 3 days dealing with a stomach bug and then the car accident happened about 2 weeks ago. I am fine and the other person involved is fine, and that is what matters most. My car was totaled and I am now sporting a new to me car. I have been grateful through all this because I am perfectly fine, only one minor injury on my knee and my insurance has been awesome and everything has moved smoothly. So with all that being said I am kinda ready to put this summer behind me. I still have some amazing things to blog about because in between all of the craziness we have had some fun moments and for that I am so grateful. I have been praying over my new students and the new school year that is ahead of me.
Logan loves to go to this waterpark in Dayton so we made the trip one day. I love that he is now at the point where he is a little fish and the water here is fairly shallow so I don't have to worry so much when he around water. He loves the big bucket that dumps water. He always wants me to let it dump on my head and because I am an awesome aunt I do it ONE time. We had a fun day. He loves the slides and found some little boys to play with. I enjoyed soaking up lots of sun.

A Cool Fair Experience
Usually the fair here in my town is always super hot in the middle of July. In fact last year we only went for a little bit because it was so hot. This year was a pleasant change it was cool, in fact if we had stayed much longer I would have had to put on a hoodie! I would have enjoyed it a little more if I had not been recovering from the stomach bug. I did not eat one single ounce of junk food! We walked around, enjoyed the rides and enjoyed taking in the fair while it was nice and cool. I wouldn't be sad if it was this cool every year!

4th of July Fun
Wow, I can't believe we are almost to the end of July. Today I started teaching our summer reading camp and it was wonderful. I am really excited to be back in the groove. Although I must admit my body needs to readjust my sleep schedule a little! I am really enjoying working with this small group of students and will be doing it for the next three weeks. I informed my boss today that I think I am getting all my sickness out of the way before school starts. First it was 3 weeks of vertigo in June and last week I had the three day stomach bug!
I got to spend the whole 4th of July holiday with Madison. We went to the festival and parade in my hometown. Then we loaded in the car to find the perfect spot for the fireworks in my town. We ended up with a great spot overlooking the show. We were so lucky to sit by another family that had a 5 year old little girl that Madison had a blast playing with. The weather was crazy(in a good way) this 4th and by the end of the evening Madison was eating ice cream in a fleece sweatshirt. The next day the 4th we went swimming all afternoon and then had dinner out and got ready for more fireworks. We were blessed to have fabulous seats in my best friends parents back yard and my co-teacher and her family joined me. We had the best time and the girls had so much fun running around the yard and loving on baby Nate! We both came home exhausted but we had a fabulous holiday.
