Sledding Fun

The one thing we can say about this winter is we have not lacked for snow and all the activities that come along with it. It has been so much fun to see Logan in the snow this year, because he loves it. He is all about building things in the snow and he really enjoyed sledding this year. We were at my grandmas house one Sunday and I decided to take Logan sledding. My brother thought the rubbermaid container lid would go better in the snow than the old wood sled they have. WRONG, it wouldn't budge and Logan ended up using it as a scoop while Cory was getting the other one down! So once we finally got the sled ready, Logan was ready to go, but he wanted to lay down on his back, silly boy. After showing him how to do it, he was off. I would go down the hill and then drag the sled back down and try to do it again. What fun! By the end of the sledding time he was worn out and ready to go in for a nap (and maybe Aunt Court was too)!

It has been a busy week, and I actually had to work 4 full days, which I don't think has happened since we went back from Christmas break. This weekend, I am going to spend time with my aunt and we are going to a Thirty-One Open House to see their new spring line. Tomorrow I will be spending some time with my two favorite Valentines and then it is back to work. Looking at the forecast makes me so excited because we are actually going to reach the 40's and 50's this week!

How is this going to work?

This makes a great scoop.

Walkin In a Winter Wonderland

Of course I had to have pictures of Madison out in the snow. The first few snows, she was sick so finally a few weeks ago, I got to capture her walking in the snow. She was so fun to watch as she kind of tip toed at first but then went to running. She was also amazed at her footprints and would stop to look at them. I am sure next winter she will be ready to run and play with her brother.

I hope everyone is survivng this crazy winter weather. This week we got a pretty hefty ice storm that left me out of school 3 days. I actually decided that I really liked working Monday and Friday and having 3 days off in between. I was sad that we missed Groundhog Day but we got in a wonderful Chinese New Year lesson thanks to the Panda Express kit that Kim recommneded. Thanks Kim, they loved the activities. Today we have had rain, sleet, snow, and ice, lots of fun. Hopefully next week brings better weather. If not I guess I have to look forward to the fact that there are 43 days left until spring! Enjoy the weekend.

Aunt Court when is it going to be summer?

Snow Much Fun

The snow has arrived and it looks like it is here today. I have a love/hate relationship with the white stuff. I love it because I get snow days, it is pretty, and fun to play in. I hate it when I have to shovel it, walk in it and drive in it. For the most part I try to embrace and deal with it. Logan is all about the snow this year and would spend hours outside playing in it. Give the boy a shovel and an empty baby wipe container and he will play for hours. BTW- the baby wipe container is perfect for making blocks for your snow house. We headed outside to shovel and play in the snow one day. While I was shoveling, I turned around and he was behind me in the grass throwing snow on the drive, I couldn't help but laugh!!!! From the way it looks, we are not the only ones dealing with the snow and at least here in Ohio we are prepared. It has been so much fun watching all you southerners out enjoying the snow.

Winter Vacation

It has been a long time since I have blogged. All I can say is if this years class does not kill me, they will make me stronger. Every so often you get that class that just wears you down-this is that class! Don't get me wrong I have some sweet ones but others are overshadowing the good. The countdown is on and there are 89 days left (give or take a few snow days). I hate that I am counting down but that is life and I am keeping it real!

Okay on to the fun stuff. A few days after Christmas, my parents decided to take Logan on a mini vacation to a local state park. Deer Creek is only about 20 minutes from my house so I decided to go up for the evening along with Logan's parents and Madison. It was beautiful at the park with the snow covered grounds and the cozy lodge. We went swimming and ate pizza, and had a really good time. Logan took the cot I got him for Christmas and loved sleeping on it.  It was a nice after Christmas break from all the hustle and bustle.
Hopefully I will get back in the blogger mode soon but if you don't see me for a while, know I am chasing 19 active 2nd graders or they have me tied up!

BTW- I have enjoyed watching all my southern friends fun adventures in the snow. When you live somewhere where snow is a winter staple, you sometimes forget the simple joys.

Happy Birthday to...ME

Today I am celebrating my 31st birthday, well technically we celebrated yesterday because I am LUCKY (not) enough to go back to school on my birthday. I am okay with the age, but I have had a hard time with my birthday. If you remember last year, my grandfather passed away just 4 days after my birthday and my birthday celebration was the last time we were together. That has really been looming over my head this year and I just really wasn't into celebrating. Well God has a sense of humor because the Flu bug of 2011 hit most of my family, so it ended up being just me and my grandma all day, with my dad joining us for cake. I am okay with that, I am disappointed that I did not get to spend my birthday with my two favorite little ones. My mom called and said Logan kept telling her he was feeling better and could go to Court's birthday party. I did call him and he sang Happy Birthday and asked if I blew out the candles. I got lots of great gifts, so it was a good day. I don't want this to sound like a pity party, just keeping it real.

I am anxious to see what my 31st year has in store. I never make new years resolutions but instead do birthday goals ( I mean who wants to make the resolution to lose weight when in two days you will be downing birthday cake).

So my 31st birthday will go down in the books as a different one, but it was just right for where I am right now.

I don't have any pictures of my 31sr birthday, so I will leave you with a yummy looking cake, which was not mine. Mine was red velvet with cream cheese icing.

Christmas Day 2010

Well the wrapping paper has finally settled, the decorations are all put away, and a new year has begun. I can't believe my 2 week break is almost over and in a few days I will turn 31. I guess time flies when you are having fun.

Christmas Day was loads of fun this year. Logan is at a great age and Madison is starting to understand what it is all about. They arrived at my grandma's about 1. The plan was to feed them and put them down for naps, then the rest of us would enjoy Christmas dinner. We had loads of yummy food thanks to my grandma.  By the time the kids got up from their nap, the dishes were done and the kids were ready to move onto the presents. By the end of the day, I think everyone in the family had perfected the art of opening and putting together all those toys, half the battle is gettting them out of the box! We were all very blessed this Christmas. I am now enjoying blogging from my netbook, while watching a new tv. I will be sporting some new clothes and shoes when I go back to school as well.

I am excited to see what 2011 has in store. January 3rd will begin my second year in my 30's, which is still hard to believe!
