Happy 4th Birthday Madison

Today Miss Madison turned 4. I can't believe it has been 4 years since I held that sweet little girl in my arms for the first time. She is sassy and spunky and girly all rolled up in one. She has started preschool and loves it. My mom pulled out pictures last week and proved that yes she is a mini me although I don't think I had all that attitude! We will be celebrating with her tomorrow night.

Here is a look back at pictures of  our little princess over the years.

Logan's 1st Day Of School

Logan started school on August 15. I still can't believe he is a kindergartener. He is learning the ropes, but is still having trouble with talking!! I still have some second graders who are working on that. Every Sunday I get the update on the latest song they are singing, and we work on his homework. We are spending time working on letters, numbers and writing his name. A few weeks ago he brought home his first book. It has been so exciting to watch him learn.

Funny story- I was asking him about gym class. He promptly informs me that it is PE. So sorry!!

I hope he continues to grow his love of learning. It makes this teachers heart happy to hear about all the new things he is doing.

Girl Day Fun

I can't believe it has been over a week since I have posted. It continues to be busy at school and sadly my to-do list keeps getting longer not shorter! I will post more soon.

After our day at the waterpark, Madison came home with me for a girls day. We were both pretty tired from the day before so we enjoyed just hanging around the house. We played dolls, ate lots of pretend food, and played outside in my r*dneck swimming pool. As much as I love doing activities with the kids, sometimes it is nice to just hang out.

Last Summer Outing

We had our last summer outing on August 9th because Logan started school the following week. We had bought passes for C0c0 Key Indoor W*terpark at the beginning of the summer and they were ready to expire. My brother and I took both kids but Logan is definitely the waterpark kid. Madison was happy just splashing around in the little kids pool area. We played divide and conquer and I spend my time with Madison in the kiddie area (I am not much of a waterpark girl either). Occasionally Logan would come to the small pool, but he was much more into the bigger things. This place was okay, but I much prefer the outdoor waterpark we usually go to.

I think Logan's favorite part was on the drive home. We are out in the country driving and we noticed there was a helicopter flying low in front of us. Of course our initial thought was it must be a medical helicopter.  After closer inspection, we discovered it was a crop duster helicopter. Perfect timing since Logan was going to see the movie Pl*nes the next day. We found a side road to pull over so Logan could watch it. As luck would have it, it was also the road the refilling truck was on. Logan and my brother got out and were able to talk to the owner and Logan got to see up close and personal how they refilled it. I stayed in the car, because Madison slept through the whole thing but I was able to get some pictures. It is amazing how they are able to land on the top of the truck, talk about skill!

*Madison is in a black and white swimsuit and Logan has a blue swim shirt on. A waterpark is not an easy place to take pictures.

A Cruise Fit For A Princess

Well I survived my first week of school. Every year, I always forget how stressful and exhausting the first week of school is. We have meeting, meet the teacher and of course the kids come. I am excited that today we are starting our normal routine. The kids and I need routine. This week is a four day week for students and next week is a four day week for me!!! I will share pictures soon of our classroom, I almost forgot to take them.

Logan had his special day out with Thomas at the beginning of the summer and I decided that I needed to find a special event for Madison. After looking around, I found that the riverboat down in Cincy was starting a princess cruise this summer. I bought the tickets, borrowed the perfect princess costume and we were ready to go.

It was the perfect event full of  girly goodness. I got Madison dressed that morning and we headed down to the river. We boarded the boat and the put all the little princesses in the bottom ballroom. The had it decorated and a DJ on board to entertain us.  The introduced all the Disney princesses and then taught the little girls to smile, wave and curtsy like a princess. Then we paraded up to the top of the boat and met the captain and got their magic wand. After going downstairs, they got their picture of the princesses and they could have them autographed.  After the autograph session, it was one big dance party with all the princesses. it was adorable to watch. Madison had a great time and will still show you how to smile and wave like a princess.   I love doing special girly things with her.

Sorry for the picture overload, there were just too many to pick from.
